My name is Raymond T. Kaya (嘉屋レイモンドです). I am an independent Reiki Master in Honolulu,
Hawaii.
I find it interesting that I appear to be in the minority by adhering to the simplicity of Reiki as originally introduced to the West. I still practice it pretty much as I did years ago, before practitioners and teachers, traditional and non-traditional alike, began "adding-on" Japanese terminology and techniques. I pronounce "Reiki" differently from most (Western) practitioners. And, as did Mrs. Takata, I use the word "initiation" to refer to the ceremony, held within a class, whereby the student becomes a Reiki channel, or is taken to the next Reiki level. ("Attunement" is a more recent term, coined by one of her students.) I do not call myself a "healer". The client/recipient heals her- or himself with the help of the Reiki energy, for which I am merely a channel. When treating, I do not combine Reiki with other disciplines, other modalities. What the client receives/perceives is pure Reiki, at least this is my intent. For me, the system that I practice is "powerful" enough, it needs no enhancing. Some of my thoughts on Reiki are posted at An Overview of Reiki and Reiki for a Modern World. I suggest you read both pages before contacting me about Reiki.
I was born in Hawaii and spent most of my life here. I have a B.S. Degree in Biology, but am currently employed full-time in accounting.
A former DOS freeware programmer, I "retired" (from freeware programming) in January 1995.
This site, ReikiAloha.com, is offered for informational purposes - and for fun.
I have worked with computers since the early 1980's, I am not facinated by them. A computer is merely tool which speeds and helps to simplify the work I do. There are many tasks which are better handled manually.
I do a fair amount of walking, my primary form of exercise. I enjoy watching Japanese TV. I am studying the Japanese language on an ongoing basis. 日本語の べんきょうを しています。 To contact me, at least initially, please register and post a message to the appropriate message board (bbs). |
